Social media censors Armeena Khan post-Kashmir activism

Actor called the shadow-ban an attempt at silencing the truth from reaching the public

Armeena Rana Khan’s endless attempts at bringing the Kashmir issue into the limelight has led to her being under threat of losing her social media accounts.

Armeena was subjected to bashing and users reported her accounts for speaking against Indian oppression in Kashmir. In a recent story on her Instagram, the starlet shared that she had been ‘shadow-banned,’ implying that her posts will not be searchable, while some of them had also been removed. She claimed that this is an attempt at silencing her from voicing the truth.

She redirected the reason for the ban towards her steadfast support of human rights, claiming that she knew the risks attached to her stance and that she had lost projects because of her activism. Regardless of which she continued to project her support, which has now led censorship on her social media accounts.

“This is the price for speaking out. I won’t stop so now who will stand with us?” added the brave celebrity.

The Janaan actor had raised her voice several times, calling out the high authorities to look into the matter. Her activism had received quite the recognition as she went on to writing a letter to UNICEF after Priyanka Chopra’s ‘patriotic’ stance on the matter.

The star went on to write posts against the revocation of article 370, claiming that it is a dark time for Kashmiris. Armeena addressed the silence of authorities, suggesting that people with of influence should use their voices to protect the under-represented. She has remained on the front lines of people bringing the IoK matter into the UN’s concern. She, along with her fiancé, Fesl Khan, personally delivered the letter to the UNICEF headquarters.

She also brought attention to the fact that the Indian authorities had openly called for violence and told the public that they would be shot for raising a Pakistani flag, claiming that a stern action needs to be taken.

In her latest tweet, she thanked the people supporting her for her efforts and said their motivation had brought her to tears.
