The science and technology ministry had forwarded the summary for the implementation of the Islamic calendar to the federal cabinet.
According to the documents available with The Express Tribune, on the directives of the federal minster for science and technology, a committee comprising representatives of the ministry, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), the Institute of Space Technology and COMSATS University Islamabad had prepared a calendar of Islamic months for the next five years.
The input of the Council of Islamic Ideology was also solicited on the calendar, according to the documents. The summary has asked the federal cabinet to approve the Islamic calendar and send it to the ministry of religious affairs for implementation.
The cabinet will also discuss the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as well as the decision to close Pakistani airspace for India airlines.
The cabinet will also give approval to the appointment of Federal Minister Fehmida Mirza as Federal Land Commission chairperson. A proposal to regularise thousands of daily wage earners working in federal educational institutions will be discussed as well.
The federal cabinet will also give approval for the appointments of private members in the railways board.
