The Aana starlet showed up to the ceremony exuding traditional vibes and we couldn’t get enough of her look. But there was also a special element to the ensemble which made it very sentimental.
Khawar wanted to reuse her mother’s bridal jora with a few adjustments and certainly ended up looking like a timeless bride, exuding old world charm.
Recently, the Verna starlet took to Instagram and explained why she opted for a simple look on her special day. "The moment I realised I’m getting married, I knew I wanted to wear my Amma’s nikkah jora. I have always been drawn to old world charm and the nazakat of bridal joras from back in the day. There is also a certain emotional attachment that comes with wearing you mother’s jora," she shared.
Pairing the traditional element with some beautiful adjustments, designer Maheen Shah added a gold kamdaani kameez, with gota and salma work on the sleeves and neckline.
Singing Shah's praises, Khawar added, "Maheen Shah helped me alter it exactly the way I wanted it, preserving its delicacy and purity but also creating something that looks good on me. Having worn it, I can say it was easily the best decision I made."
Shah has earlier shared the details of the dress as well. “We added another organza dupatta with kamdaani chatta, finished with lace, lappa and taamba kiran,” the designer wrote on her Instagram. “The kameez was then finished with hand-crafted tassels.”
The new bride opted for simple makeup and we think that was the best part of her nikkah look. In her post, Khawar revealed that she did her makeup herself, radiating fresh and glowing skin with flushed cheeks and almost-bare eyes.
"I also did my own hair and makeup because I wanted to keep it simple and minimal," she continued. "Your wedding day is supposed to be a happy day that you can truly enjoy. It’s okay if you don’t want to wear the heaviest jewellery and would rather keep it a little light."
Khawar paired the entire look with some rosey gajras and some of her mom’s jewellery. The pink roses really stood out against the light gold jora and the delicate jewellery created a timeless look.
"Your comfort and happiness is the most important thing!" Khawar concluded. We wish the couple a happy married life!
