LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has taken action against 2,397 violators over improper disposal of solid waste and issued them fines of over Rs4.5 million. LWMC Managing Director Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti said that the company has been working tirelessly to provide the best cleanliness services but some citizens are violating solid waste management by-laws and disposing of their waste improperly, which is not acceptable at any cost. He added that such violations in the city will not be spared without any fear or doubt.  “I myself visited the city early in the morning to ensure proper and effective waste management services and directed officials concerned to further improve the cleanliness condition of the city,” he maintained.
