ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Education has established 12 centers for the registration of madaris across the country with the registering of 35,000 madaris to start from September 15.

It will be mandatory for the madaris to get registration from the Ministry of Education and adopt uniform syllabus whereas the government would provide teachers for teaching worldly subjects.
A final agreement will be signed between Ministry of Education and Ittehad Tanzeemul Madaris on August 28.

A Directorate of Religious Education has been established in Islamabad under which regional offices have been set up in Karachi, Lahore, Sukkur, Multan, Rawalpindi, Loralai, Peshawar, Kohat, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit. The registration of madaris will begin from September 15 in all the regional offices.

Three agreements have already been signed between Ministry of Education and Ittehad Tanzeemul Madaras, while an important meeting will be held on Wednesday (today) at the education ministry with the representatives of madaris after which an important agreement will be signed, which will be considered the final accord.

The registration of madaris with the Ministry of Education has been made compulsory and those who do not comply with the condition will not be allowed to work.

Sources said that a four-page form has been prepared for the registration of madaris, which could be downloaded from the Ministry of Education website in the next few days.

The form after being duly filled and attached with necessary documents will be deposited at the regional office.

All other registrations of madaris will be cancelled except the current registration with the Ministry of Education.

Ministry of Education and Professional Training will be responsible for all matters pertaining to madaris.

All madaris will open their bank accounts and will be bound to carry out their transactions through them.  Foreign students will be allowed to study in these madaris and Ministry of Education would facilitate the processing of their visas.

The National Curriculum Council would enforce the implementation of uniform syllabus from grade 1 to grade 5 and the madaris will be bound to follow the said curriculum.

The government will provide three to four teachers to every madressah to teach English, mathematics, Urdu, science and others subjects. The Ministry of Education has also prepared PC-1 for the purpose.
