QUETTA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s MNA from Balochistan Munawara Muneer has said Prime Minister Imran Khan has allocated Rs10 billion for beautification of Quetta in the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

“The federal government has allocated a mammoth sum for province’s development schemes in the federal PSDP in order to bring Balochistan on a par with other provinces,” she said while addressing a news conference in Quetta on Tuesday.

The MNA said PM Imran Khan is making his earnest efforts for the development of the province.

Munawar said: “Centre has given Rs10 billion to Balochistan National Party-Mengal chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Rs115 million to each MNA from Balochistan for development projects”.

She added: “The PTI-led government believes in merit. We have brought reforms in many institutions in order to wipe out menace of corruption from Balochistan.”

The PTI leader slammed previous governments for ignoring Balochistan from development. The government is focused on Balochistan’s development as country is being run on province’s natural resources, she added.

MNA Munawara also said the government did not propose any cuts in universities’ budget, while answering a query regarding Higher Education Commission’s cut in universities’ fund.

“We will raise the issue [varsity’s budget cut] at the federal level,” said the MNA.
