Vulnerable Hazara community

Letter August 22, 2019
The state should provide the insecure Hazara community with adequate security to instil a sense of confidence in them

KARKI: The Hazara community in Quetta is being targeted on a daily basis. They are being killed by the dozen, especially in Quetta. Recently in an attack that took place around April 2019, more than 20 of them were killed and 48 left injured. This is high injustice to people of Hazara community who consider themselves as citizens of Pakistan. But unfortunately, they have a feeling that their rights are being violated. Minorities are being targeted. Hazaras consider themselves as Muslims. They feel insecure and the state should provide them with adequate security to instil the sense of confidence in them. I urge the government to do the needful to eradicate terrorism root and branch. The Hazara community not only wants peace but they want the country to prosper as they consider themselves a part of it.
