LAHORE: A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker has demanded that the government declare Jati Umra a sub-jail for PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz.

The demand was made by Member of National Assembly (MPA) Sumaira Komal in a resolution she submitted in Punjab Assembly Secretariat on Saturday. She expressed her gloom and said there are no appropriate arrangements in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office for women, which is highly regrettable. She implored that it is an illegal practice to conduct investigation against Maryam Nawaz on a place marked for men. She contended that there is only one day-care centre in the NAB office but only for children of women working in the office.

Maryam remanded in NAB custody till Aug 21

She stated that there is not even a single female investigation officer in the office for the purpose of investigation of women.
