Officials also bar burning of the head and legs of sacrificial animals

BHAKKAR: The Punjab Home Department has perhaps put a dampener on the Eid holidays of people who were planning on smoking sheesha at public places by banning the activity at hotels, restaurants, parks, cafe and clubs.

Also, the department has barred the use of remote controlled model air crafts (RCMEs), UAS, flying cameras, quadcopters, helicams and balloons which are covering events or sports competitions.

The department issued another order to ban the practice of burning the head and legs of sacrificial animals in public places including streets, main roads and open spaces.

In the meanwhile, a total of seven sale points will be set up to facilitate people with the purchase of sacrificial animals for Eidul Azha in Bhakkar, said Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Farukh.

He stated this while chairing a meeting which announced sale points will be operational on August 9, 10, 11 and 12. ADCG Khalid Masood Faruka, assistant commissioners, livestock department officials, the municipal committee CEO and representatives of other relevant departments attended the meeting.

The DC directed CEOs of the municipal committees of Bhakkar, Darya Khan, Kallur Kot and Mankara to manage sale points in their respective areas.

He instructed them to make arrangements for shade, cool and clean drinking water, security cameras as well as lighting and food points for those who come to buy animals.

It was stated in the meeting that responsibility has been given to the municipal committees concerned to set up six sale points in the area of the city, while there will be just one such facility for the Cattle Market Management Company in the outskirts of the city.

Sale points will be located in Mandi Town, Bhusa Mandi near Auqaf office, Railway Ground in Darya Khan and Gudai Road, Sagu Road in Kallur Kot and Gohar Wala Chowk in Mankera by the Municipal Committee. The management company will be designated a sale point in the cattle market on Bhakkar-Khansar Road.
