CNG association calls off strike till July 11

ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan CNG Association decided to withdraw its call for nationwide CNG strike on Tuesday.

The announcement came as the government assured that the CNG prices will not be raised and the duration of gas loadshedding will be reduced.

President CNG Association Ghayas Paracha addressed a press conference in Islamabad and said that the CNG station owners decided to call off the strike till July 11.

Paracha said that the Minister for Petroleum Dr Asim Husain has promised the association that government will not impose an unfair increase in the CNG prices.

He added that the government is also considering reducing gas loadshedding down to one day per week.

Over the past week, public has faced hardships due to CNG strikes across the country.

The government had earlier announced to raise CNG prices by 60 to 90 per cent, but the CNG Association demanded the government to keep CNG prices under 40 per cent of the price of petrol.
