ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has decided to hear all petitions against sealing of Safa Gold Mall on August 1. IHC Acting Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the case on Tuesday. The mall’s counsel said that the Supreme Court (SC) had ordered to demolish illegal encroachment in federal capital. However, the mall was not an encroachment rather, a commercial structure built on an amenity plot. He told the court that the petitioner had stated that mall’s land was allocated for a hospital while the apex court’s orders did not mention to take action against such buildings. CDA’s counsel said that they had informed mall administration that their plot’s lease had been cancelled. The court ordered to combine real petition and new petition to hear it on August 1.
