KARACHI: After a video of the burn wounds of a minor boy, who allegedly had piping hot tea thrown at him for slacking on the job went viral, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has now taken notice of the incident.

Earlier in the day, a video began doing the rounds on social media, in which a woman can be seen testifying outside a chai dhaba to being witness to its owner throwing hot tea on the minor boy who worked there

"We saw him [owner] throwing it [tea] on the poor boy's face... and just for not washing dishes fast enough," she says in the video.

The woman then points to the boy to display his injuries.

The incident took place outside the Quetta Darbar Hotel, located in North Nazimabad Block H neighbourhood.

"Look at the cruelty of this fiend," the woman cries out to the onlookers.

She also claimed that after local police had been informed they took the owner's brother into custody.

With the video appeal going viral, the chief minister has taken notice of the incident and called for Commissioner Karachi to take action against those responsible.

He said that action would be taken against those behind the heinous abuse against the child.

Incidents of child abuse have become commonplace in the country with public awareness campaigns being rolled out by the government.
