RAWALPINDI: A man was allegedly gunned down by his in-laws in Rawalpindi.

Aijaz Ahmed told Naseerabad Police that his elder brother, Ahmed Jan, contracted his second marriage with Momina five years ago against her family’s will.

Ten months ago, Momina’s eldest brother returned from Saudi Arabia and took her to Swat.

From Swat he forced her to file for divorce, after which both families got involved in discussions.

The complainant, along with two of his brothers including Ahmed Jan were going to Jan’s residence last night after purchasing food when two unidentified motorcyclists intercepted them and opened fire at Ahmed Jan.

The victim was taken to the hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds.

Aijaz accused the victim’s brother-in-law Syed Karam and father-in-law Behram Khan, of being behind the murder.

Meanwhile, a passenger bus met an accident as its tire burst near Neela Dulha area on Motorway.

The bus swerved off the road as its tire burst injuring the 14 passengers inside it.

The injured passengers were shifted to different hospitals in Chakwal by rescue teams.
