‘Multiple cable cuts’ affect internet traffic across Pakistan

PTCL forms high-level probe committee to determine cause of outage

Internet services were affected due to ‘multiple cable cuts’ in different regions across the country on Monday, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to our valued customers. PTCL has deployed all its technical resources to restore and stabilise the services as soon as possible,” Fariha Tahir Shah, General Manager PTCL Corporate Communication, was quoted as saying in a statement.

Total broadband users in Pakistan hit 70 million

“Furthermore, internet services have been partially restored in many areas,” she added.

PTCL’s technical teams are working on fully restoring the network for business continuity and high availability.



The PTCL official further said that a high-level investigation committee was also formed to determine the root cause of the outage.

zeeshan malik | 4 years ago | Reply i also face this issue of cable cut in Islamabad but few websites tribune,google and Asan Classifieds were not loading and taking too much time in loading but i was not aware what happened i think maybe its because of weak wifi signals but now i read this news thanks for updating
