A new study has found that young Netflix subscribers would gladly end their subscriptions if Friends was ever removed from the streaming giant, reported Metro UK.

The Hollywood Reporter and Morning Consult questioned 2,201 adults about what would make them unsubscribe from Netflix and results revealed that 49% of those between 18 and 29-years-old would leave if the sitcom was axed. The same was said of The Office, along with Marvel and Disney releases.

Disney hits record on streaming plans; Netflix slips

The investigation also polled what it would take to make the most amount of people leave Netflix all together. It showed that 31% would quit if The Office and all of the Disney and Marvel content were shelved, compared to 30% if Friends, Disney and Marvel were removed. Following that, 27% would leave if Disney and Marvel content left. These statistics follow a survey that suggests 8.7million Netflix users might abandon the service in favour of Disney+ when it is launched later this year.

Back in April, Streaming Observer examined data they collected from the 602 US adults that took part in the research. But even taking that into account, there’s likely to be a lot of families that’ll consider jumping ship. And it’ll probably be those with young children.

Netflix UK confirmed in February that it has no plans to remove Friends from its service anytime soon. “How many times do we need to tell you Friends isn’t leaving?” its representatives wrote in a tweet.
