Rs17.43 billion set aside for GB development projects

Rs2.435 billion for twelve continuing and new plans in the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP)

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has recommended the allocation of Rs17.435 billion for development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan in the federal budget for the next financial year, of which Rs15 billion has been recommended for projects at block allocation in the yearly development programme, and Rs2.435 billion for twelve continuing and new plans in the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

According to budget documents, the federal government has recommended the following costs for projects in the PSDP: Rs50 million for the 26 megawatt hydropower project at Shagharthang in Skardu, Rs125 million for the 4 megawatt hydropower project at Thag Challas, Rs300 million for the establishment of a heart hospital in Gilgit, Rs300 million for the upgradation of the road from Konodas to Naltar Air Force Base, Rs40 million for the establishment of a polytechnic institute for boys, Rs200 million for the 16 megawatt hydropower project at Naltar, Rs460 million for the 20 megawatt hydropower project at Hunza in Gilgit, Rs400 million for the 34.5 megawatt hydropower project at Hurbo in Gilgit, Rs110 million for the 32.5 megawatt hydropower project at Attabad, Rs50 million for the 30 megawatt hydropower project at Ghwari Gangchi, Rs100 million for the regional grid station in phase 1 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and Rs300 million for sanitation and sewerage in phase 2 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
