Youth of modern era was significantly different from earlier generations, needed to be dealt with entirely new approach, Andleeb Abbas, a senior leader of the ruling party, said on Monday.
Being a teacher she believed that there was a needed to focus on raising confident and independent children, she said talking on a programme in the state-run PTV.
She said that today children find it difficult to face practical problems owing to being locked up in virtual reality.
Modern children were equipped with technology, definitely more skilled in technical stuff but lack to stand in practical situations, she said.
Parents of this millennium should not impose their choices on young minds while opting a professional path, they should have a liberty to choose a career, she said. "I am privileged to teach in the best private institutions but I have noticed that 99% of high fee institutions guarantee parents for high GPA only, no session of critical thinking and subject involvement in practical life is included," she further said. Even young intelligent students with the highest GPA could not cope with the pressure at workplace, they were compelled to earn money but were haunted by the behaviour of their employers, she said.
Student must be given a behavioural training to deal with different people before stepping in the practical life, it could turn them stronger socially and morally, she commented.
