Eid: 10,000 accident cases brought to KTH

The A&E Department was fully functional during Eid holidays

PESHAWAR: As many as 10,406 patients were brought in as accident cases to the emergency department of Medical Teaching Institute Khyber Teaching Hospital during Eid holidays.

The KTH administration said doctors, nursing, paramedics, IT staff and class VI employees performed their duties according to their duty rosters.

KTH Director Dr Nekdad Khan and Acting Medical Director Associate Dr Muhammad Shoaib supervised all the activities and ensured presence of doctors, nurses and paramedic staff during Eid holidays.

The A&E Department was fully functional during Eid holidays. The doctors, nursing, paramedics, class 4, IT staff, security and all principal staff officers were vigilant and present at their place of duty. All emergency drugs were available in the hospital pharmacy.

Following is the statistical data issued by the hospital administration, which states that as many as 10,406 patients were brought in as accident cases to the emergency department. At least 559 patients were admitted in various units, 51 major operations were carried out in different operation theatres (OTs), a total of 6,792 various investigative procedures were carried out by the pathology department, of which there were total of 259 patients were related to blood issues, a total of 796 ultrasound carried out by the Radiology Department, 577 X-Rays were conducted with 64 CT scan carried out by Radiology Department.
