X Men Dark Phoenix is about to hit cinemas and it's set to be a winner.  Sophie Turner aka Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones will take the led female role as Jean Grey which is sure to bring high emotions.

But what caught some people's attention is a vague reference being made in the hit series hinting that the name should be called 'X-Women', given that women are the ones saving the world, Pinkvilla reported.

Simon Kinberg, who makes his debut as the director for the franchise, opens up if a X-Women series is on his mind anytime soon.

To this, Kinberg said, "No, I wasn't planning it but I would love to see it. You know one of the things I love Dark Phoenix is because it is driven by a female protagonist and that is not something which happens in X-Men comics that much. It is usually dominated by Wolverine or Magneto for the longest time.

He continues, "This was a wonderful opportunity to tell a female driven story where the protagonist of the story is both the hero and somewhere the villain. So that is interesting."

Turner was also apparently the directors partner in crime on the set, but did not surpass Kinberg's expectations as the beloved Jean Grey. "She did not surpass my expectations but definitely met my expectations," Simon reiterated.

If there was any X Men character that deserves a spin-off, the director picked an interesting choice.  He divulged that he spent a long time with Dear John star Channing Tatum and would love to see a Gambit film because he is a great character,

"I think the truth is with the Disney and Fox merger, I don't know what the future of the Marvel movies is but we are still figuring it out but thats the film I hope sees the daylight because we have been working on it for the long time."
