Misha Lakhani [ML]: This Eid collection - Tashkent - is for the urban nomad. It offers versatile separates and effortless styles for every dress code on your calendar, from iftar nights to Eid lunches and beyond.

Hallmarks of the collection include tactile fabric techniques, hand-crafted embroideries inspired by Uzbek and Mughal traditions and floral blooms across a midsummer colour palette.

ET: What is your design philosophy? How did you come up with the embroidery designs and what materials did you use for them?

ML: It starts with a moodboard and grows from there. We always work out of the existing DNA but push the boundaries of what's possible.

ET: Your cuts for Eid are often basic kurtas. Is this a personal favourite?

ML: In the past, we have included contemporary styles that can be taken on holiday. But this time, we wanted to keep it easy, wearable and versatile to be dressed up or down with beautiful dupattas and hand-crafted sandals.

ET: What are the things a designer should never compromise on?

ML: A designer should work within their own aesthetic and never compromise on their vision for the brand.
