He said this while meeting a delegation comprising lawmakers belonging to the PTI and its coalition partners during his day-long visit to Karachi on Friday.
Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Khurram Sher Zaman, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Faisal Vawda, Ashraf Qureshi, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Nand Kumar, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi and Sadruddin Shah Rashidi among other politicians belonging to PTI, MQM and GDA attended the meeting, held at the Governor House.
Overall political situation in Sindh and ongoing development projects by the federal government among other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
PTI's leadership, including Prime Minister Imran, has stated many times the party’s position that it does not want to divide the province of Sindh.
Earlier this month, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail’s statement about dividing Sindh into administrative units had drawn condemnation from nationalist parties and disavowal from the PTI who made him the province’s governor.
The premier, during the visit, also attended a fundraiser for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and chaired a meeting regarding the launch of Naya Pakistan housing scheme in Sindh.
He was accompanied by Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Commerce Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood and Special Assistant to PM Naeemul Haq.
The premier is also scheduled pay a condolence visit to the family of deceased federal minister Ali Muhammad Mehar in Ghotki, who passed away earlier this week after suffering a cardiac arrest.
