Cake was also Pakistan’s entry for the Oscar’s in the foreign-language category this year, so it’s well worth a watch again and again. The film made its way to Netflix this month and our neighbours finally got a chance to watch Abbasi's masterpiece. And as expected, they are all praises for the multi-starrer!

I saw the trailer of #Cake last year, the much acclaimed Pakistani film with a stellar cast and then I thanked the lords of @NetflixIndia and saw it yesterday. Brilliant film! Warm, crisp, family drama. Loved @aaminasheikh - new found muse! @sanammodysaeed was as usual, great!

Set in Karachi, Cake follows two sisters confronted by old secrets as one lives abroad and the other is ‘left’ behind. They must realise the only way for the family to move forward is by moving back.
