The operation is to be conducted jointly by the MDA, Multan Police and departments concerned. DG MDA Tanvir Iqbal has directed action against collection of parking fee outside commercial centres, wedding halls and shopping centres in the jurisdiction of MDA. He said that the provision of complementary parking facility to their costumers is obligatory for such centres.
SC orders end of commercial activities on military lands
According to a press release issued on Sunday, the MDA DG said that according to the by-laws, the commercial centres, marriage halls and shopping centres were bound to allocate space for free parking to the visitors. However, some businessmen and owners were using the allocated space for commercial purpose and collecting parking fee through contractors.
The DG MDA said that a survey of such commercial buildings had been started and operation would be launched after the survey report is completed. District police, income tax and excise team will also join the MDA authorities to make success of the action certain.
He directed the officials concerned to publicise through proper advertisement in print media to create awareness among the masses. He said that strict action would be taken against building inspectors concerned over any negligence.
