Inspector General of Police Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan said that the acts of valour, bravery and gallantry exhibited by the force against the terrorists and anti-state element would go a long way in the annals of history.
He was presiding over the first ever conference of Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) conference of the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) at police headquarters on Friday.
K-P police chief termed the conference a milestone in the history of policing in the NMDs. RPOs, DPOs and high ranking officials of the former Levies and Khasadars largely attended the conference. The police chief warmly welcomed the former Levies and Khasadar and congratulated them on participating in the meeting.
The conference discussed threadbare the salary disbursement mechanism, budgetary allocation, infrastructure, police uniform, fuel charges and other issues. On this occasion it was directed to further carry on the steps and strategy adopted in the light of previous meetings held in this connection. The RPOs, DPOs presented power point briefings to the chair.
Addressing the conference, the IGP informed that the forces based in the tribal belt had performed their duty as the first line of defence against the dreaded terrorist and in the process rendered voluminous sacrifices of their precious lives. The IGP termed the induction of the former Levies and Khasadars in the K-P police a big success.
He also hoped that on merger both forces would benefit from each other's rich experiences and would take exemplary steps for maintenance of law and order in NMDs. The police chief further elaborated that the former Levies and Khasadars are an integral part of the police force and measures would be adopted for maintenance of law and order with their consultation.
