Blood Money: Complainant, witness recant

GUJRANWALA: The complainant and witness of a murder on the hands of anti-narcotics officials recently changed their statement. According to police officials, three years ago, Khayali resident Sughran Bibi submitted a case against 21 people for torturing her son to death. Sughran Bibi listed two army majors, a local station house officer (SHO) and other police officials. The court has sent six accused including the two majors to jail. The remaining absconders have yet to be arrested. On Friday, the court’s Sughran Bibi and two witnesses Ehsanullah and Abdul Rasheed changed their statements. They said that Zufiqar died after he fell on road. According to sources Sughra Bibi has received Rs 2,400,000 in blood money and to drop the charges.
