Private schools

Letter April 20, 2019
Private schools are increasingly becoming more like a business

TURBAT: Most parents send their children to private schools because they want to provide their children with quality education, which public schools often lack.

However, private schools are proving to be heavy on the pocket, as they charge fees for the period of summer vacations. This becomes highly problematic for those parents who are struggling to make ends meet.

Private schools are increasingly becoming more like a business, and a lucrative one at that. The ever-increasing charges of private schools together with the rising inflation might lead many parents to withdraw their wards from school. This indeed will be harmful for education in the country.
