All British Council Cambridge examinations are running normally, said a message on their website on Sunday afternoon. That was good news for Mohammad Ziad, who asked The Express Tribune to confirm whether they were on or not as he needed to know whether he should make arrangements for a boat.

“Candidates should attend examinations as timetabled. Daily updates about the examinations will appear on the British Council Pakistan website,” said the message that was updated on June 4, Friday. When The Express Tribune contacted two British Council staffers, they said that as far as they knew, the exams would be held according to schedule. They advised students to check the website, however, given that the weather conditions were still developing.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), however, postponed its papers scheduled for Monday, June 7, in view of Cyclone Phet. This was announced by the chairman Prof. Anwar Ahmed Zai on Sunday.

The morning paper for the Humanities Group and the Commerce Group’s paper in the afternoon on June 7 have been postponed. These papers would now be conducted on June 29. The postponed papers for June 4 will now be conducted on June 28. The practicals for the Science Group which were to be held on June 7 at the colleges have also been postponed. A fresh date would be given by the colleges, APP reported.

The University of Karachi postponed its papers for the semester examination scheduled for Monday. New dates will be announced later.
