MPA Azma Zahid Bokhari drew attention towards the issue through a privilege motion she submitted in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat on Monday.
She said it was regrettable that the house of Punjab Assembly was being disrespected by the bureaucracy. She added that it seemed the House had no authority before the bureaucracy.
She said that 18 resolutions of public interest had been passed in recently, but no there was zero compliance on even a single resolution.
“It seems the bureaucracy does not want to comply with the resolutions”, she said. According to the law, it is necessary to comply with the resolutions, which get passed in the Punjab Assembly within the period of three months. She added it was regrettable that not a single resolution was complied with.
She pointed that not one compliance report over a resolution was submitted in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat.
Bokhari said legislators are greatly concerned over the negligence on the part of the bureaucracy. She said that her motion should be taken up in the Punjab Assembly and then referred to the relevant committee so that the process of complying with the resolutions starts.
