IPC ministry delegation to visit Saudi Arabia soon

Federal Minister for Interprovincial Coordination Dr Fehmida says talks to include discussions on sports projects

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interprovincial Coordination will send a three-member delegation to Saudi Arabia to discuss plan for high-end sports facilities in Islamabad and all four provinces as per the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

After meeting Saudi officials, the delegation will finalise the plan for new projects.

According to details, the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman at one end is paving way for long term economic opportunities while on the other plans for facilities and welfare of sportsmen are also being considered.

As per a MoU signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, the proposed projects include stadiums and coaching facilities for sportsmen.

Federal Minister for Interprovincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza has said it is the first time in country’s history the Saudi crown prince has announced to make large investments in Pakistan. Consequently, people will see signs of development in all areas.

Talking to Daily Express, the federal minister said the two countries have started a new chapter of joint cooperation in various areas including release of prisoners, oil refinery in Gwadar, sports infrastructure and film-making. Pakistani delegates will soon visit Saudi Arabia to discuss projects for sports including playgrounds and stadiums. The delegation will prepare a comprehensive brief for Saudi officials, she said.
