Former insurgents receive payouts

Compensation given under the Peaceful Balochistan Package

QUETTA: As many as 204 former insurgents including 17 commanders and eight deputy commanders were given compensation amount by the provincial government on Wednesday as part of “Peaceful Balochistan Package”.

The ceremony was held in Jirga Hall Sibi. Adviser to Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sikandar Umrani was the chief guest of the ceremony.

Ex-chief minister Nawab Gosh Bakhsh Barozai, Brig Owais Majeed, former information minister Khurram Shazad, Sibi Divisional and Deputy Commissioners Syed Faisal Agha, Syed Zahid Shah including tribal leaders, civil and armed forces officers were present on the occasion.

The adviser said that peace is the actual way of development and prosperity while injustice and persecution leads to terrorism, failure, and destruction.

“With the support of armed forces and public we will fail all conspiracies,” he said adding that by keeping the way of peace future of the children are bright.
