PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday directed the public servants and tehsildars to mend their ways otherwise they would face disciplinary action.

Government servants should ensure responsiveness to the public service otherwise they would be shown the door, he said addressing a ceremony for the delivery of services at doorsteps of the citizens launched by the district government.

Special Assistant to CM on IT Kamran Bangash, District Nazim Peshawar Arbab Asim, MPAs, district nazims, Peshawar Division Commissioner Shahab Ali Shah, Deputy Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh and other prominent figures were also present at the occasion.

CM Masood said the government would no longer allow any public servant to exploit the people. The public servants should ensure responsiveness to the public service otherwise the next option before the government would be to show such elements the door, he said.

Addressing the gathering the chief minister said that the government was going all out for providing efficient services to the people and the home based delivery of services is a milestone in this regard and it is more important for the people of Peshawar that will resolve the grievances of the people related to the commutation, domicile and other related services.

The government was taking corrective steps, making the public sector institutions responsive to mitigating the public complaints. PTI government will fulfil promises made with the people of the province, he said.

He told the tehsildars to make the whole commutation process free of irritants and cumbersome situation, the chief minister warned stern actions if they failed.

His government believed in the home based delivery of services system and congratulated the people of Peshawar to have it in the first go adding that the provincial government would ensure practically serving the people as our vision is the complete redressal of people grievances.

“We would continue working for a complete change and would never compromise on it,” he said adding that his government was fully accountable to the people.

Dozens of legislations have been made that included Right to Information and Right to Services and others of the sort in order to make the whole system of governance transparent and ensure the people accessibility to the services.

He said decision making should be free from favouritism and personal likes and dislikes.

The land computerization was undertaken in Mardan because the people had to face a number of problems and now it would be extended to other districts of the province. He appreciated the district government and district administration Peshawar for implementing the government decisions for the public welfare.

The CM asked the people to pinpoint any corruption in the commutation and other allied services.

They would have biometric system and deposit the tax challan directly in the bank that would rescue them and the system free from fraud.

There would be a number of steps that included visits of Tehsildar, video conference and facebook page that would make the entire process transparent.

Revenue Cell has been established in Deputy Commissioner Office Peshawar for the land related process.

“It is a unique system and hopefully we would extend it to the whole of the province,” he added.

Earlier addressing the function District Nazim Peshawar Arbab Asim said that the district government would stand committed to the resolution of people grievances at local level. “We would make decisions on merit and the system would be transparent at district level that would be visible in the whole decision making process for the public welfare at district level,” he added.
