Law enforcement and investigation agencies nabbed more than 15 people, posing as candidates for the post of police constable, from different test centres in Faisalabad, Express News reported.
Sources said that FIA and police teams raided different government schools and colleges where written tests for the recruitment of police constables were under way. The test was being conducted by Central Testing Service (CTS).
During the search, the raiding teams caught more than people who were sitting in place of original candidates of the test paper.
Investigations revealed that some of those arrested had taken money from the original candidates to sit for the exam. It also transpired that the CTS officials failed to check the original CNICs of the candidates and did not carry out biometric verification, which is mandatory requirement under the recruitment rules.
Meanwhile, separate cases were registered against the accused while further investigation was under way.
Earlier, the FIA claimed to have arrested 12 human traffickers, including three proclaimed offenders, from various parts of Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions.
Additional Director FIA Sajid Akram Chaudhry said the arrested human smugglers were involved in depriving people of heavy amounts on the pretext of sending them abroad.
The accused were identified as Waqar Ahmed, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Muhammad Rashid, Muhammad Munaaf, Salah Muhammad, Fahad Javed, Muhammad Asif, Amjad Ali, Muhammad Kashmiri, proclaimed offenders Qadir Bakhsh, Muhammad Waseem and Waseem Ashraf. Cases have been registered against them.
