An official of Qutubpur police station told Express News that two robbers were fleeing after depriving people of their valuables when a patrolling police team chased them.
In a bid to evade the police, the outlaws entered a research centre at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture.

Meanwhile, the news of armed outlaws entering the university spread like wildfire and heavy contingent of police, including the Counter-Terrorism Department, Dolphin Force and Elite Force were summoned to the scene. After a half-an-hour long operation, the suspects were arrested and their weapons were seized.
The accused were identified as Abid and Gulzar, residents of Nag Shah area.
The university guards also aided in capturing the robbers. However, students and staff members remained unhurt in the incident.
After the incident, fear gripped the city and people in large numbers gathered outside the university.
While speaking to Express News, university spokesperson claimed that the varsity’s Chief Security Officer Qaiser Alvi and security guards apprehended the culprits with weapons and handed them over to the police. The police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
Earlier, four robbers were nabbed after a brief encounter with police in Hafizabad.
Saddar Area DSP Khalid Maqbool said that he and his team were patrolling the area when they received information that four robbers riding two motorcycles were looting citizens near Channi Hanjrawan Village.
