Labourers' death: Case registered against company

Bomb disposal squad of the police department carried out an extensive examination of the site

KARACHI: Shah Latif Police registered a case on Thursday evening against the private company, whose six employees were burned to death in its workshop located near Landhi Manzil Pump on Wednesday. The company's management has been charged with murder in the FIR.

As per the FIR, a bomb disposal squad of the police department carried out an extensive examination of the site and wrote in its certificate that the fire occurred as a result of extremely high gas pressure. According to the initial findings, the company was found guilty of negligence towards the abnormal gas pressure. For further inquiry, the case had been referred to the investigation police.

As many as seven labourers were critically to death in the incident, six of whom later succumbed to their injuries. They include Muhammad Khalid, aged 35, Inayat, aged 40, Muhammad Imran, aged 30, Muhammad Amir, aged 25, Muhammad Shadman, aged 46, Muhammad Saleem, son of Shabbir, and 30-year-old Muhammad Saleem, son of Babu.
