Exhumed: Police recover arms, ammo from grave

Seven rocket launchers, 32 rockets, two hand grenades and other weapons recovered

SHABQADAR: Shabqadar police have recovered heavy cache of ammunition dumped in a grave, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Muhammad Riaz Khan told the media on Friday.

SDPO Riaz said that his informer told him that huge amount of ammunition has been dumped in Mia Essa Graveyard by unidentified terrorist for an act of terrorism.

Acting on the intelligence report, Riaz said, he ordered a police party to raid the identified spot. Once the grave was opened, police found arms and ammunition neatly packed in plastic bags.

A total of seven rocket launchers, 32 rockets, two hand grenades, eight fire bombs, four land mines, 12 safety fuses, three boxes of antiaircraft gun bullets, two sub-machineguns and a machinegun were recovered from the spot. Riaz said Shabqadar police have registered an FIR against unknown miscreant and started investigation.
