KARACHI: The former Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan reportedly met the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Vice Chairperson Advocate Anees Khan in Dubai to discuss the formation of a new political party. Sources say the two leaders discussed the political situation of the city and election results, and resolved to jointly move forward.
The meeting is a crucial step in paving the way for a fresh political start for the former leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, as PSP had subjected the former governor to serious allegations.
Sources said that the two leaders have been on cordial terms with each other for several years despite PSP’s conflict with the former governor. After witnessing the results of the 2018 elections, Anees’ relationship with PSP had strained and he left for Dubai.
After reports of the meeting, leaders from various factions of MQM-Pakistan have also been contacting and meeting each other to discuss their concerns. The party leadership is considering the formation of a new party and a new political party may be in making.
