QUETTA: In response to the federal government’s statement about the next National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, Provincial Finance Minister Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani has said that the statement does not apply to Balochistan.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, he said the meeting to discuss NFC award would take place in the coming days. The minister added that the provincial government would not be able to release the salaries in the next year without the support of the federal government.

With regard to the details of the government’s policy against corruption, Hassani said, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan had launched anti-corruption campaign since he formed the government.  “Previous regimes destroyed the province with mega corruption scams,” he added.
