KARACHI: A banking court has directed Taha Raza, a suspect in the money laundering scandal worth billions of rupees, to approach the Supreme Court (SC) for medical facilities.

The hearing of the petition filed by Raza, to avail medical facilities in a hospital from jail, was heard by the special banking court of Karachi.

Advocate Shaukat Hayat maintained that Raza was injured in Landhi jail after he fell and needs immediate medical treatment at a hospital.

Hayat maintained that the jail administration is neither shifting Raza to the hospital nor providing him with the required services.

The court directed Raza to approach the SC for medical facilities and remarked that in light of the SC's decision, no order can be issued.
