Crime scene: Seven, including three robbers arrested

ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police have arrested seven people including three robbers who were also involved in a murder besides recovering a snatched motorbike, weapons and 55 bottles of liquor from them, a police spokesman said.

He said that ASI Sur Gul Khan Khan and his team was on patrol when it signalled three men riding a motorbike to stop. The men instead of stopping tried to flee and a chase ensued. Finally, the patrol party overtook the three men near Social Security Hospital. On frisking, police recovered a 30 bore pistol and bullets from one of the suspects, following which they were arrested.

The motorbike, the suspects identified as Israr, Irfan and Rizwan Taji, were riding was snatched from the New Town area of Rawalpindi.

During preliminary investigation, they confessed to snatching cash and mobile phone from a man named Gulzar near Carriage Factory, IJP Road on August 2, 2018.

They also confessed to have killed their partner in crime, Shehr Gul Khan, over a dispute on distribution of the looted amount in area of Shamas Colony police station.

Meanwhile, Inspector Muhammad Riaz Wajih from Homicide Unit arrested three suspects Muhammad Khan Farooz Din , Muhammad Waqas Khan and Waqar Ahmed Khan, residents of Itfaq Town Islamabad, over their alleged involvement in a murder committed in the remits of Ramana police station.

CIA police team also arrested Sunil Masish, resident of France Colony Sector F-7/4, for having 55 bottles of liquor.

SSP Islamabad Amin Bukhari has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance in the city.
