ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Khan has said that the initial response to our tree plantation drive #Plant4Pakistan was phenomenal.

People from all walks of life overwhelmingly participated in the plantation drive. It was more encouraging that the youth of Pakistan actively participated in this initiative.

We initially set the target of planting 1.5 million trees in a day but due to active and massive participation, we ended up with more than 2.5 million which is a highly remarkable achievement. Therefore, we have decided to start the next phase of this plantation drive by coming January.

He stated this while chairing a high level meeting at the Ministry of Climate Change, Islamabad on Tuesday. Climate Change Federal Secretary Khizar Hayat Khan and senior officials from the ministry were also present in the meeting.
