'Efforts afoot for early completion of QDP projects'

Additional commissioner directs authorities to plant more trees

QUETTA: Quetta Additional Commissioner Mueenuddin has said efforts have been intensified for early completion of projects under the Quetta Development Package (QDP) in order to provide relief to the people.
“All hurdles in the QDP projects will be removed,” said Mueenuddin while heading a session on the progress of development projects in Quetta on Friday.

QDP Director Ahmed Ali, Quetta Assistant Commissioner Saniya Safi and district officials were present.

The additional commissioner directed authorities to ensure the utility services were properly implemented in the areas where development projects were being carried out. “Progress in QDP must take place immediately,” he ordered.

The session was informed that construction work on expansion of Joint Road was under way while construction of Saryab and Spini roads would commence after transfer of the utility system.

“People of Quetta will be relieved of traffic issues after the expansion of various roads. Efforts are under way to commence the Quetta Expressway, Nawa Killi Underpass and Flyover, expansion of Gawalmandi Chowk and other projects which will transform the city,” said Mueenuddin.

He directed authorities to plant more trees in the city following Plant for Pakistan drive and make necessary arrangements for taking care of trees.

He said efforts have been intensified for the early completion of QDP projects on the directions of Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan.
