QUETTA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Balochistan President Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind chaired a meeting with the party’s provincial cabinet and council.

PTI’s provincial cabinet, divisional presidents, and representatives have decided to meet the party chief Imran Khan in Islamabad and share their reservations related to Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) provincial government.

BAP all set to take over the reins of Balochistan

The party’s provincial cabinet and council expressed their confidence in Sardar Rind and their reservations over BAP’s provincial government.

They said that BAP fielded their candidates in the province against them in every constituency and now have formed a coalition government with the party. They criticised the BAP’s government and expressed their disappointment.

Moreover, PTI’s Amir Rind and BAP’s Sarfraz Bugti are going to battle it out for the vacant Senate seat in the election scheduled for September 12.

The provincial Senate seat was vacated in the general elections held on July 25 after former senator Naimatullah Zehri decided to retain his Balochistan Assembly seat and resigned as the senator.

On Saturday, PTI’s Rind submitted his nomination papers for the Senate election, claiming he would “easily win”.

“The PTI will successfully clinch the seat vacated by its MPA Naimatullah Zehri,” said the former provincial minister and PTI’s Senate candidate. “Resolving Balochistan issues will be our top priority in the upper house of parliament.”

On the other hand, BAP President and Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan allotted the Senate ticket to former home minister Sarfraz Bugti.

“I am thankful to BAP and the chief minister for entrusting me with the Senate ticket and to BAP Secretary General Manzoor Kakar for surrendering in my favour,” Bugti said, adding that he would definitely become the voice of Balochistan in the Senate.

It is pertinent to mention that the term of the vacated Senate seat will last for two years.
