DERA GHAZI KHAN: A woman gave birth to a child on road after a government hospital refused to treat her on the pretext of unavailability of the required blood group and recommended her to a private hospital.

The mother and the newborn were lying on the road for hours outside the hospital. The woman belonged to the Buzdar tribe, the clan of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. This is the fifth such incident in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Aali Bibi, the wife of Abdul Sattar Buzdar, gave birth to the child on hospital’s service road. Upon the arrival of the media, people nearby called Rescue 1122 which shifted the woman and the child to the teaching hospital’s gynae ward. Sattar, the husband of the woman, appealed to the Punjab chief minister to take action against the attitude of the hospital staff.
