LWMC chalks out cleanliness plan

Managing Director says all was set to cater to the needs of the public with 299 camps to be set up at UC level

Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has made extraordinary arrangements in all designated cattle markets. It has also launched cleanliness operations and awareness campaign among masses. LWMC Managing Director Farrukh Butt said all was set to cater to the needs of the public and in this regard 299 camps would be set up at UC level. He said 2.1 million waste bags would be distributed among people and LWMC has designated 116 temporary collection points. In a meeting held between the representatives of 72 private housing societies of the metropolis and LWMC officials, Operations General Manager Sohail Malik ensured the support regarding cleanliness during Eidul Azha. He said temporary collection points have been set up near the housing schemes and it would be the responsibility of the staff of the housing societies to bring animal waste to the designated collection points from where LWMC would lift and transfer it to the dumpsite.
