'Azaadi' director signs Salman Khan's co-star from 'Tubelight' for his next film

Titled 'My Heart is in China', the film will feature Chinese actor Zhu Zuhu

KARACHI: After the success of local film Azaadi, director Imran Malik has signed Chinese film actor Zhu Zhu, who earlier appeared in Bollywood film Tubelight opposite Salman Khan, for his next venture titled My Heart is in China. 

Pakistan, China to jointly produce feature film

Imran also revealed that he is currently in talks with an A-list actor to play the male lead in the film. Produced under the banner of Pervez Malik Films, My Heart is in China will go on floors later this year. It is a love story that is set to be filmed in the walled city of Lahore. Parts of the film will also be shot in rural China.

"China has a potential to be one of the biggest market for Pakistani films and I have just the right script. It will not only entertain people on both sides of the border but also strengthen the relationship between them," said the Azaadi director.

Earlier, Chalay Thay Saath starring Syra Shehroz and Chinese actor Kent S Leung focused on Pakistan's relationship with China. The Umer Adil directorial played to a full house at the Hong Kong Arts Centre in the city’s tony Wan Chai district on March 20, 2018.

Another film called The Journey was announced to be jointly produced by the neighbouring countries. It will showcase stories of Chinese businesses participating in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
