LAHORE: The spokesperson for the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has said that 50% financial assistance has been paid to partner schools. He added the aim was to ensure that teachers’ salaries could be delivered and the remaining payment would be made as soon as possible. A statement issued by PEF said the provision of quality education to the public was its primary objective for which partner schools were playing a pivotal role. The PEF management discussed the issues of its partner schools regarding the payment of teachers’ salaries, rent of school buildings and other utility bills. In this context, the government assured it would provide an immediate release of the funds so it is expected that the monthly payments for July would also be made soon. Meanwhile, to facilitate the PEF partner schools, the Student Information System (SIS) and Teacher Information System (TIS) are being upgraded with up-to-date technology. Due to limited access to these systems, school owners are able to make changes by August 6.
