Congratulating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on winning the general elections, the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed its readiness to enhance cooperation with the government-in-waiting.

People of Pakistan have demonstrated their desire to achieve progress and development by turning up in large numbers and using their right of franchise in the July 25 polls, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said in a letter written to the PTI chief.

India desires improved ties as Pakistan readies for new government

The Iranian envoy prayed for welfare and progress of Pakistanis as well as good health and further success of Imran Khan in the letter.

The PTI chief has been in the international limelight since winning the last week’s elections. Many countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, India and China have felicitated the cricket legend-turned-politician on winning the polls and expressed hope for better bilateral relations with his government-in-waiting.

Saudi government so far hasn't treated us as equals which is mostly our leaderships fault but regardless Irans' friendship can really boost our economy which in turn could create more then jobs in our country.
