A 12-year-old girl, Kashaf Dukhtar, was killed and 25 others injured when a ride, being operated on a trial basis, in Karachi’s newly-inaugurated Askari Amusement Park broke apart last week. Eyewitnesses said there was a loud explosion somewhere in the swing’s mechanism and it fell down from its peak, causing parkgoers inside the ride to be slammed onto the ground and being crushed underneath. Two days before opening, the park’s managing director, Shafqat Jafri said that the machinery had been imported from China. On a query regarding safety checks, he had said that no officials had visited the park yet as there were no laws governing such rides in the country.

France Win The World Cup After Six-Goal Thriller With Croatia-As It Happened

France overwhelmed Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final at Moscow’s Luzhniki stadium last week to lift the trophy for the second time in 20 years. Croatia fought hard for an hour but gradually ran out of steam after playing extra time in their three previous matches, and goals from Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe gave France a three-goal cushion. Mandzukic pounced on a mistake by France keeper Hugo Lloris to cut the deficit in the 69th minute, making it the highest-scoring final over 90 minutes in 60 years, but Croatia could not find the net again in their first World Cup final.

Your Favourite DC Villain Is Getting His Solo Movie

The Joker origin movie has been in talks for a long time and rumours about the film featuring Joaquin Phoenix have been making the rounds. Now, Hollywood Reporter confirms that the movie has been given the green light. Shooting will begin in September. From the looks of it, we’re pretty sure the story will be based on Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke and we’re thinking Joaquin Phoenix just might pull it off.
