Vote for the country

Letter July 19, 2018
Elections are around the corner and some of our citizens are still in a dilemma about their vote

KARACHI: Elections are around the corner and some of our citizens are still in a dilemma about their vote. Unfortunately caste systems, race, and social hierarchy still play a significant role in the polling exercise in the country. Citizens are not concerned with the future of Pakistan, and the future of their children, rather they are more concerned with the caste of a candidate and, by extension, the particular ideology a party supports. We as citizens have a responsibility to support and improve our country — by doing whatever we can in our power to make a change. Many in the country have become despondent and started believing that there is no honest and kind person around who can change Pakistan for the better. Well, they are wrong as there are people who have the capability to bring a positive change in the country and it is our responsibility to vote for them.
