Under lights: Royal Shakir Sports Festival concludes
The games were played under floodlights
PESHAWAR:
The tenth iteration of the 18-day Royal Shakir Floodlight Upper Dir Sports Festival concluded amidst great fanfare and tight security at the Upper Dir Sports Complex with thousands of spectators attending. Eight different games were featured in the festival including cricket, volleyball, football (junior and senior), table tennis, badminton, tug of war, basketball and athletics. The games were played under floodlights. “We have a very clear policy through which the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Sports Directorate plans to install floodlit facilities at all sporting venues in K-P so that the capacity of playing venues can be doubled and more youngsters can utilise them,” said Junaid Khan.
